APPLY FOR A training scholarship

To apply for a service dog training scholarship, click on the APPLICATION button below. Our Applicant Review Committee meets around the end of September.  Each $2,500 scholarship will be paid to the credentialed trainer of the recipient's choice. The number of scholarships awarded will depend on available funding for that year.

Some of the items the committee will consider when evaluating applications include the following:

1. Need - what is the nature of your need? We are currently not providing awards for therapy or emotional support.  We are looking to provide training for task-oriented service such as ability assistance, diabetes alert, or seizure alert. If you are not sure if your medical condition qualifies, submit an application and we will review it. 
2. Financial Ability to Care for a Dog - While 4Gold has a mission to help provide training for services dogs, the daily care and veterinary needs must be provided by the recipient, so we will evaluate your ability to cover the costs for proper care of a service dog. 
3. Brand Ambassador - We will also consider how well you will represent 4Gold in your public interactions and we will want to maintain contact and receive updates about your progress with your companion. 
4. Household - Is everyone in your household on board with having a dog and able to be around dogs?
